Our season opener for the Pro All-Star Series was on April 2nd & 3rd in Hickory, NC. Thank you to our partners for this race, New England Mechanical, Epsom Tool Rental, SignWorks New England, Web Smart Advisors, and Bedford Barbershop. After a rocky start in the April 2nd qualifying, we had to run the consi race. We finished 4th in the consi, which was good enough to transfer to the feature. We started in the 24th position and after an uneventful race, we finished 17th.
We took what we learned in the first race and made adjustments for Saturday. We qualified 12th and rolled off in that spot. At about lap 40, our car came to life and we came across the checkered in 5th. Thanks to my crew for all their hard work, Keith Matheson, Steve Olson, Cody Hodgdon, Tyler Cox and Stevie Johns.
Next, we ran the April 10th Icebreaker at Thompson Speedway in Connecticut. We struggled with dynamics during practice. We made some changes before the race. We started 17th for the feature. We were able to gain five positions, finishing in 12th. Shout out to our partners for this race, New England Mechanical, Epsom Tool Rental, SignWorks New England, Web Smart Advisors, and Bedford Barbershop.
On April 18th we ran the Northeast Classic at New Hampshire Motor Speedway. This was a lifelong dream realized! We fought with aerodynamics in practice. We decided to bring the car back to the shop. We threw the kitchen sink at it, loaded it up early on Sunday and headed back to the track. After starting and finishing third in the heat race, we rolled off in the 7th spot for the feature. There were a couple of cautions during the 50 laps, thankfully no contact for us. We officially finished 7th, with a clean car. Thank you to our partners for this race, F.W. Webb Company, TJ Mechanical, Laconia Refrigeration, Epsom Tool Rental, SignWorks New England, Web Smart Advisors and Bedford Barbershop.
